M/S Pia

 

M/S Pia is the practice boat of Marstal Navigation School (situated on the island of Ærø (Aeroe) in the southern part of Denmark). Marstal Navigation School educates shipmasters for the merchant navy.

M/S Pia was named after Pia Gjellerup, former Danish Minister of Economic, who saved the school from shutting down and made sure that the school was able to get the ship.
